ADRIENN HÓD & BODHI PROJECT:
CHORUS LINE
Chorus Line, created by Adrienn Hód and BODHI PROJECT, focuses on paradoxical relationships between movement, stillness, monotony, and attitude. The deconstruction that can be observed throughout the piece brings together the tough athleticness of marching bands and the sensitivity of the Chopin nocturnes. The contradictory nature of the deconstructed performances forces the audience to look beyond the object of their attention and observe a deeper sense. In this way, the dancers raise questions about individuality and collectivity while building a piece that brings out the strong provocative characteristics of Adrienn Hód’s work, whose vibrant art is known to evolve on a tendency to deconstruct, destabilize, and re-build the existing dance structures. Pushing the boundaries, opening new spaces that are hidden behind taboos and spectatorial conventions, radically rethinking the possibilities inherent in contemporary dance, this is what Adrienn Hód both calls for and executes.
