ANA ROMIH:

LIGHTNESS

If only we could face the tensions of the contemporary economic and political structures with more ease. Ana Romih thinks precisely about that. Her solo show Lightness deals with the tactics and strategies with which we try to refill our bodies with that lightness of presence that we usually admire in children, as well as with ways which enable us to get rid of the clutter that is imposed on us via the turbo-capitalist machine.

Ana Romih, a choreographer and a dance pedagogue, the recipient of the Meta Vidmar golden badge 2015, the Meta Vidmar award 2020, and the Transgeneracije festival award 2019, will present her artistic way of kneading some basic movement elements into a dance phrase which reaches its peak as a complex choreography. There's no rush. Take it easy.

The artist plays with the methods which individuals use to free themselves from the chains that burden them. These conventional approaches are translated into a material for movement, then slowly layered and liberated from the standardized prescriptions. Her insertion of irony and humour into the performance shatters any superficial interpretation and brings the audience into a lighter state.
