In Lands of Concert, the artists blur the codes and boundaries of dance in search of radical intimacy. Together with the audience, they look beyond normative definitions and entrenched polarized positions, distances, and proximity. The piece is based on the principle of care built on recognizing diversity and acceptance. It all starts with the body, the concrete physical basis that we all both share and are diversified by. But Lands of Concert opens the communication to create a sphere in which the artists and the audience shift the physical and the intellectual boundaries, as well as develop new protocols of giving and receiving care. There’s an appeal to personal imagination, deep listening to the needs of the body, its (in)abilities, and possibilities. This is a mirror of our times and an attempt to convert new limitations and obstacles into physical closeness. Other thinking patterns are being formed, the body finds new extensions and multiplications within a movement language as a form of ever-changing landscapes.
