SAŠA LONČAR:

CRUMBS

Sooner or later, all group dynamics, communication, and interactions lead to the emergence of an idea. Saša Lončar, Ana Romih, and Urška Medved suggest a topic: contact improvisations. The topic is then shared with eight dancers aged 8 through 11. From this moment on, the idea is no longer a single one, but is multiplied, decomposed, reassembled and transformed into a series of new ideas. We are presented with eight solo performative crumbs. Individual movement-stories related to a common idea which, in turn, is the result of both individual and group thinking. Dancers ask, "Where does the whisper of a forest river direct you when you become aware of the waves of your gravity?" Or, "I am driven forward to heal the decaying hearts with my song so I can finally take my shields off." And: “What if…? What if…? What if we don't think when we think we think, but (also) when we don't think? ” Thoughts are not and cannot be autonomous; they are connected with the world, with people, and by sharing. They are also related to the perceptual and physical functioning of the body. They cause movements, smidgens of movements, stories-movements.
