JERNEJ ŠKOF AND MAJA PAHOR:
ENCOUNTERS, GAPS AND TRACES
Physical opening of spaces where bodies meet. Remembrance and reunion. Meeting with people who co-shaped this subject into a certain form of presece. A thank you to the LGBT+ people who are building a community and without whom the community would not exist. A thank you to friends. These are the contemplative flows that are intertwined, confronted, and metamorphed in every movement of the performance Encounters, gaps, and traces. Jernej Škof is interested in marginal stage expressions with which he “looks for holes in the walls of everyday life and tries to demolish them with stage action.” In this constructive search and sensitive demolition we must recognize the author's interest and experience in cabaret performance, street theater, LGBT+ artistic practices, and especially in Japanese buto, a technique that proves to be the central driving force of Encounters, gaps, and traces. The performance will also exhibit Škof’s creative encounter with the musician and DJ Maja Pahor who we know as a member of the bands Boobjail, Croon and Volk behind her eyes.
